For you who are struggling...
At TranscendED, we understand that the idea of living without your eating disorder can be a scary one. While we wholeheartedly believe that you are NOT your eating disorder, we know that your eating disorder has been serving some sort of purpose for you - whether that is coping with stressful situations, expressing things you can’t say verbally, trying to feel in control, or something else. Our goal is to help you find new, healthier ways to meet these needs in our eating disorder treatment programs.
Our first focus at TranscendED is getting you physically and medically stable. Our psychiatrist, nurse, and dietitian will work with you to create a plan for your physical recovery so you can begin the emotional healing necessary for lasting recovery from your eating disorder.
We believe that each individual is unique and, as such, every person’s recovery is going to be unique. Our treatment team will work with you to explore your life situation, needs, wants, and barriers to recovery to create a one-of-a-kind treatment plan just for you. At TranscendED, we believe recovery from an eating disorder is possible, and work diligently to create a safe, trusting, and nurturing environment for you to begin the process of physical and emotional healing.

For Loved Ones
You are important, too.
Recovery from an eating disorder cannot occur in isolation. Family involvement is essential in eating disorder treatment programs and in creating a recovery-oriented environment in the individual’s natural setting. While we don’t believe that family blame is necessary or helpful, we understand that a well person cannot thrive in an ill family. At the same time, a strong and healthy family, with an understanding of the causes and reasons for eating disorders, can be the very key to the individual's success in treatment. For this reason, our program incorporates weekly family therapy, shared meals, and monthly multi-family programming.
We also understand that because of your loved one's eating disorder, you may be suffering as well. We understand that it is difficult to see your loved one struggling, and it may feel frustrating and nearly impossible to accept their relationship with food. Through educational groups, family therapy with your loved one, and multi-family programming, we can help you understand the eating disorder, as well as help you create ways to support your loved one and ask for the support you, need in facing this disorder.
If your loved one is suffering with an eating disorder, we are here to help you both. Please contact us, and our team will provide all the guidance needed to get you and your loved one the treatment they need.
Family therapy, family mealtimes, and multi-family groups are all valuable opportunities for families to come together to support their loved one while in the program.
